Signal Mountain resident George Davenport will give a talk, entitled “Tell Your Story,” at the Signal Mountain Library at 6 p.m. May 21. The public is invited to this free event.
Davenport has recently published a book, “Project Management without a Helmet,” the story of his life as an engineering project manager. He has included in the book many entertaining stories about his career and lessons he has learned.
Educated at the United State Military Academy, Davenport served with the U.S. Army Combat Engineers before joining Procter & Gamble as a project manager. His book records his work experiences as well as his involvement with Habitat for Humanity and the South American Mission Society.
“One of the most important aspects of a person’s life is his story,” he said. “Learning how to tell that story to others is an important element in the maturity process,” he added.
Davenport is also developing book-marketing presentations which teach others how to tell their story and encourages them to write their own stories.
The program will be held in the Library’s lower level and will last approximately one hour.
