Library patron Kris Bespalec has loaned us an amaz Library patron Kris Bespalec has loaned us an amazing model of a riverboat, which we have displayed in our Juvenile Fiction area. The boat was made by a group of incarcerated men at Walker State Prison in Georgia. It was a gift to Kris, who teaches a Hands-on Art History class at the prison on behalf of the Hunter Museum of American Art. The boat is made from cardboard, tissue, wooden coffee stir sticks, and other recycled items. Come see it and marvel at the detail and the skill of its creators!
